Baltimore, MD – Today Food & Water Action announced its endorsement of State Senator Roger Manno in the campaign for Maryland’s 6th Congressional District.
During his time in the General Assembly, Senator Manno has been at the forefront of campaigns to protect Maryland’s environment. As Chairman of the Joint Committee on Administrative, Executive, and Legislative Review, Senator Manno took decisive action to delay weak regulations on fracking. This action bought the grassroots movement to ban fracking time to push a ban bill forward in the legislature. In addition, Senator Manno has helped propel efforts forward to ensure that Maryland tax credits for renewable energy are reserved for truly clean energy sources, such as wind and solar.
“When the citizens of Maryland needed a political leader to stand up for them to help defend the environment from harmful practices like fracking, Roger Manno answered the call,” said Mitch Jones, Senior Policy Advocate at Food & Water Action. “We are proud to stand with Senator Manno in his campaign for Congress, because we know he will not hesitate to fight back against the Trump administration’s reckless pursuit of dirty energy. We also know that Senator Manno will work tirelessly for forgotten communities and families that stand to take on the biggest burdens of our country’s extreme energy addiction.”
Food & Water Action has over 5,500 members and supporters in Maryland’s 6th Congressional District.
