But there’s still time to act. That’s why Food & Water Action is working with community members to elect Mary LaSota and Robin Stuntebeck to West Goshen’s Board of Supervisors.
The ME2 will not carry ‘natural gas’ that we might use to heat our homes or operate a kitchen stove. The pipeline will carry exceptionally dangerous materials called Highly Volatile Liquids-- ethane, propane, butane, and pentane. When a leak occurs, these chemicals vaporize, becoming a low-lying cloud of explosive, odorless gas. They travel with the wind, and once they find an ignition source, they explode.
Building a pipeline this dangerous this close to so many families should be illegal. In fact, it is.
There is a law in West Goshen that prohibits the construction of a pipeline this close to homes. But the current Board of Supervisors has not been aggressive about enforcing the law.
We need to elect candidates who will do everything in their power to stop Sunoco from endangering our community. Mary and Robin are the only candidates running for West Goshen Board of Supervisors who will put our community’s well-being before the interests of the pipeline company.
Please join us on November 7 to protect our community from the Mariner East 2 pipeline by electing Mary LaSota and Robin Stuntebeck.
